Angry fans holding tickets to see the U.S. premiere of Sex and the City
at New York's Radio City Music Hall, vented their frustration Tuesday night as
they were turned away from the theater, which had been overbooked. The New
York Daily News reported that as many as 2,000 ticket-holders were shut
out. One woman wearing surgical staples from a throat operation told the
newspaper, "I'm absolutely heartbroken. ... This is pain and the city." Theater
ushers pointed out, however that the fine print on the tickets noted that
seating was on a first-come, first-served basis.
