Heavy alloy has been associated with ol' Beelzebub ever since its origination, just there own been a few acts wHO took the opposite route and put their Christian beliefs in unvoiced rocking songs, such as Stryper. Formed in Orange County CA in 1983, the group was originally known as Roxx Regime, and consisted of singer/guitarist/main songster Michael Sweet, drummer Robert Sweet, lead guitarist Oz Fox, and bassist Timothy Gaines. It wasn't until the group changed their call to Stryper (which stood for "Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace Encouragement and Righteousness") that things actually began taking off for the quadruple. Specializing in the melodic Van Halen/Def Leppard style (with heart-wrenching mightiness ballads tossed in), polished in all black-and-yellow outfits, and spreading their religious message regular farther by tossing bibles out into the crowd at their shows, Stryper was gestural by the Enigma label in 1984. The same year, the group's debut recording, a six-track mini record album highborn The Yellow & Black Attack, was issued. The album created a buzz for the grouping among metalheads, which was only heightened with the firing of their first-class honours degree uncut album, 1985's Soldiers Under Command. The first gear Stryper passing to crack up the Billboard charts, its success resulted in the re-release of The Yellow & Black Attack (which included an spear carrier deuce tracks and new nontextual matter) in 1986. Later the same year, Stryper issued their soph full-length, To Hell with the Devil, which many consider to be the group's finest hour. Turning out to be the highest-charting album of their career (hardly missing the Top 30), the platinum-certified record album benefited by MTVs repeated airings of the videos for "Career on You" and the saccharine ballad "Honestly" (the latter of which indisposed at number 23 on the U.S. singles charts). Despite possessing a different message than their peers, Stryper's music by this point fit in perfectly with the other popular pop/hair metal bands of the day (Bon Jovi, White Lion, Dokken, etc.).Yet just as it appeared that Stryper could peradventure break through on a massive plate, such new metallic element styles as lick (Metallica) and more stripped rock 'n' roll (Guns N' Roses) began to usurp Stryper's pop-metal audience. As a consequence, Stryper's next release, 1988's In God We Trust, failed to spread out their following, nor did it live up to anticipate of its predecessor (although it did manage to garner gold credentials). Sensing this, the grouping adopted a harder-edged reasoned and look for 1990's Against the Law, and even covered the Earth, Wind & Fire blue funk graeco-Roman, "Lustrous Star." Neither managed to crossbreed over to the pinnacle of the charts.A greatest-hits set, Can't Stop the Rock, followed in 1991, merely with Nirvana precisely around to ring the death knell for pop-metal bands, Michael Sweet distinct to leave the chemical group for a solo life history. Surprisingly, the leftover members of Stryper opted to dribble on as a three-piece (with Fox handling principal vocal duties), and continued to turn for a spell. The Michael Sweet-less variation didn't utmost farsighted however, as Stryper formally called it quits in 1992. In the wake of their stock split, its members remained meddling. Michael Sweet's solo calling never scaled the same high as Stryper's, although solo releases give appeared on a reasonably regular fundament, with 1994's Michael Sweet, 1995's Literal, and 2001's Truth. Robert Sweet issued a solo recording, Love Trash, in addition to studio work, patch Fox and Gaines formed a new chemical group, Sin Dizzy, world Health Organization issued a stone opera (concerning the excruciation of Jesus Christ), coroneted He's Not Dead. During the intervening geezerhood, a large core of devoted fans remained entire, resulting in all of Stryper's albums beingness reissued by Hollywood Records. In 1999, Sin Dizzy played a show with Michael Sweet, which concluded in an offhanded jam session of old Stryper tunes -- resulting in reunion rumors. And with a heightened nostalgic interestingness regarding '80s earned run average metallic element bands come the early 21st century, Stryper in agreement to periodically reunify for a "Stryper Expo," which has since turned into an annual event. Stryper's second greatest-hits' appeal, 7: The Best of Stryper, followed in 2003, and included a mate of new tunes recorded especially for the assembling, "Something" and "For You."

Chris Martin: 'Coldplay Are Now A Better Looking Band'

Chris Martin has revealed that Coldplay’s new album is sexier then their last record ‘X&Y’ because the band are better looking then they use to be.

According to Reuters the frontman joked to journalists outside a free gig in Barcelona: “I think we are definitely more handsome now than we were three years ago. I think that's reflected in our music, it’s much more sexy.”

Martin also spoke about how personal the new album ‘Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends’ is to him.

He said: “When you finish a big tour two things go through your head: one is maybe we need to do the same thing again and again because the most people will like that.

“But after about two weeks, you forget that you've ever been popular, and so all the music you write becomes very personal and it's only now when we are releasing it that we realise how personal it is.”

Coldplay are set to head out on a North American tour in support of their new album in July.

Spy Museum settles U.S. probe on access for blind, deaf patrons

Washington's International Spy Museum settled a federal civil rights investigation by agreeing to make its exhibits more accessible to hearing- and vision-impaired customers.

The U.S. Justice Department said the settlement calls for the museum to add regularly scheduled tours that describe exhibits, special maps for the blind and captions for audio and interactive displays. Department and museum officials said the agreement, which carries no monetary penalty, may spur higher levels of access for the disabled at cultural institutions across the U.S.

"From day one, we have tried to be a welcoming museum to all of the public," said Peter Earnest, the spy museum's executive director, at a press conference in Washington. "There were things we were not aware of."

The museum worked for three years with the Justice Department's civil rights division to resolve the matter, which will bring it into compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. A visually impaired tourist's complaint to the agency prompted the investigation, officials said, adding that the museum fully cooperated.

Since it opened in 2002, more than 4 million people have visited the museum, which is located a few blocks from the National Mall. The privately owned institution focuses on espionage throughout history, displaying what it says is the largest collection of spy-related artifacts anywhere.

About 16 million Americans have sensory disabilities, Justice Department officials said.

Girls Aloud - Cole Blames Dance Routines On Weight Loss

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE refuses to blame her recent dramatic weight loss on the breakdown of her marriage.

The singer is married to English soccer ace Ashley Cole, but the couple has recently been rocked by claims of the sportsman's alleged infidelities.

Photographs of Cole looking thin have frequented the British press, but she insists her weight loss is down to the band's gruelling dance routines while on their U.K. tour.

A spokesman for the star says, "Cheryl is not trying to lose weight, and she's eating healthily.

"She has always been tiny. Yes, she has lost weight and she's aware of it - but if you're dancing for two hours a night and sweating a lot, it's going to happen."

Member of Music Piracy Group Convicted of Conspiracy

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Barry Gitarts, 25,
of Brooklyn, N.Y., was convicted today by a jury in the Eastern District of
Virginia of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement, announced
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Chuck Rosenberg and
Assistant Attorney General Alice S. Fisher of the Criminal Division. U.S.
District Court Judge Liam O'Grady will sentence Gitarts on Aug. 8, 2008.
Gitarts faces up to five years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and three
years of supervised release as well as being required to make full
restitution.

According to the testimony and evidence presented at trial, Gitarts was
a significant member of the Internet music piracy group Apocalypse
Production Crew (APC) from at least June 2003 through April 2004. Records
and testimony introduced at trial showed that Gitarts, using the alias
"Dextro," paid for and administered a computer server located in Texas that
APC group members used to upload and download hundreds of thousands of
copies of pirated music, movies, software and video games. Evidence also
showed that Gitarts received payment from the leader of APC.

Testimony showed that APC acted as a "first-provider" or "release
group" of pirated content on to the Internet. Release groups are the
original sources for a majority of the pirated works distributed and
downloaded via the Internet. Once a group prepares a stolen work for
distribution, the material is distributed in minutes to secure computer
servers throughout the world.

U.S. Attorney Rosenberg stated, "Music piracy is stealing and, unless
you want to end up in a federal prison, don't do it."

The case is part of an ongoing federal crackdown against the organized
piracy groups responsible for most of the illegal distribution of
copyrighted movies, software, games and music on the Internet. To date,
there have been 15 criminal convictions of APC members and 56 convictions
in Operation FastLink, a massive international enforcement action against
organizations involved in the illegal online distribution of copyrighted
material.

To date, Operation FastLink has resulted in more than 200 search
warrants executed in 15 countries; the confiscation of hundreds of
computers and illegal online distribution hubs; and the removal of more
than 100 million dollars worth of illegally-copied copyrighted software,
games, movies and music from illicit distribution channels. Operation
FastLink is the culmination of multiple FBI investigations, including an
investigation into pre-release music groups led by FBI agents from the
Washington Field Office.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay V. Prabhu of the
Eastern District of Virginia and Trial Attorneys Josh Goldfoot and Tyler G.
Newby of the Department of Justice Criminal Division's Computer Crime and
Intellectual Property Section.

Naomi Campbell Pays Tribute To Yves Saint Laurent

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has paid tribute to Yves Saint Laurent following his death this week, saying the French fashion legend had a huge role in promoting black models.

Campbell, 37,  told Britain's Channel 4 News that Saint Laurent, who died yesterday of a brain tumour at his Paris home, had "done so much for people of colour".

"My first Vogue cover ever was because of this man," she said.

"When I said to him 'Yves, they won't give me a French Vogue cover, they won't put a black girl on the cover' and he was like, 'I'll take care of that', and he did."

Campbell said Saint Laurent, who dominated the international couture scene from the 1960s until his retirement in 2002, revolutionized women's wardrobes.

"He was the king of fashion. He created pret-a-porter, he was the first designer to put women of colour on the runway; he was extremely important in my career, giving me one of my first jobs," she said.

"He has done everything, he's done it; if you go to the museum you will see he has done it all. He has done so much for people of colour."
